Location

Flat Rock Creek Rd, Comfort, TX 78013
This private cattle ranch is located in the Texas Hill Country just outside San Antonio and is about a 1:45 drive from Austin. The trails are single track with some double track that lead through typical hill country terrain, with spectacular views, hill climbs, long downhill sections, technical single track, and several creek crossings. While there may be creek crossings on occasion, Comfort has been in a drought for the last 4-5 years and will most likely be dry. Sorry, Pets are not allowed.

Parking

As you enter the ranch, you will immediately see an open gravel parking lot. If you drive more than 200 meters, then you’ve gone too far! The parking lot is a short walk from the start area. Please follow race signage.

Camping

Camping is available at Flat Rock Ranch for $15/night per person or $10/night per person for military, kids under 18, and adults 60 and over. You can pay upon entry to the property. Toilets and showers are available. There are no camping sites, but it is “open camping” meaning you can basically camp anywhere within the camping area boundaries.

Volunteer

Volunteers are great way to give back or get credit towards your future races. We rely on experienced mountain bikers, runners, and hikers as volunteers to help with trail setup, tear down and safety patrol. If you are good with a full day of trails (not terribly tough, but requires fitness and experience) it’s a fantastic place to ride. You must be able to take care of your own lodging, transportation, flats etc. and other gear. It sounds tough (and it can be), but volunteers love the work. No matter what your talent or capabilities, if you want to volunteer, we can find a job for you.

Communications

Volunteers will have radio’s to communicate between other aid stations and race staff.

Cell phone is coverage decent, but some lower spots won’t have coverage during the race.
