I heard about Back on my Feet from a client of mine a few years back. She told me how one of her friends started running with the homeless community in San Francisco. Running offers physical and psychological benefits and can help offer stability. Why can't a person who is homeless run? She mentioned it had started here in Austin. I thought that was the coolest idea and I wanted to be involved.
BOMF supports 1500 members (people experiencing homelessness) annually. After running with BOMF for 60 days nearly 50% of members have reduced blood pressure, obesity, and BMI. I am confident running has made many other emotional and psychological changes as well. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with BOMF Austin and your registrations and donations directly impact this community!
